How exciting! A new chapter. A new door being opened. A new opportunity. When I started my personal blog last spring, it was a very basic journal-style blog that chronicled what was happening in our family’s life as we transitioned from one state to another and from one phase of life to another (as my husband leaves the Marine Corps and we make the transition from military to civilian life). I have enjoyed sharing that content with our friends and family, but I feel like I am now being called to do more.
There have been days in my life as a wife and mother in which I have desperately needed and sought after words of encouragement from women who have walked through similar experiences before me. I’ve also always had a passion for listening, encouraging, and guiding my friends and family whenever my ears or words of advice are solicited. Combining that passion with a love of writing, the desire to share my faith and personal stories, and the experience of having a career in education, I thought of how amazing it could be if I created an online space that offered encouragement and information to other wives and mothers when they need it the most. Being what I have once needed myself, and hoping to help others in the process.
My blog’s name, “Laughter Without Fear” is inspired one of my favorite pieces of Scripture. Proverbs 31:25, when describing the wife of noble character, says:
“She is clothed in strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.”
That creates a beautiful image in my mind. An image of a woman who is so strong in her faith, confident in her path, and prepared in life, that she is able to laugh at the days ahead. So beautiful, but oh my goodness can it be hard to attain when we get caught up in the day to day business of life.
The life of a wife and mother is full of beauty and blessings, but it is certainly not always easy. Of course there are many incredible moments, but to be honest, sometimes life can lead me to feel like a mess--physically, emotionally, and spiritually. What about you? I plan to let you know about my array of life experiences, both joyful and challenging. I have found, that the more I am steeped in faith, knowledge and information, and frequent encouragement and support, the better equipped I am to think positively, worry less, and more easily laugh without fear or worry of what lies ahead.
My goal for Laughter Without Fear is to help other wives and mothers find that much-needed faith, information, and inspiration here in my little corner of the internet. For now, my goal is to post twice a week, and you can stay up to date with the latest posts by following my social media accounts. Thank so much for joining me as we learn to laugh without fear...together!
