Hey all! I was chosen by fellow blogger Katie over at Always, Katie to participate in this getting-to-know-the-blogger survey post, so here we are. This was a fun little exercise, and for those of you in the late 20s-early 30s age range, it might remind you of the little surveys that were oh-so-prevalent back in the days of myspace and livejournal. At any rate, it gives you a little bit of insight into the woman behind the blog, and I hope you enjoy!

Four names people call me other than my real name:
Mommy: As in “Mommy, I love you.” and “Mommy, I just threw up.” I hear it in the good times and the bad, but that’s okay with me. It’s my favorite title.
Mrs. Herr: I mean, this is still technically my real name, but is a title that’s generally just reserved for my students. I am a Literacy Interventionist and I serve small groups from several classrooms, so I hear this name all day long from many different kiddos.
Aunt Christina: I love, love, love being an aunt, and between my husband’s side and mine, I have 13 nieces and nephews. This title is so important to me, because this helped me learn what love for a child was all about before I became a mama myself.
Bina: A friend of mine gave me this nickname in middle school, as in Christina-Bina, and for a few of my close friends, it has stuck even to this day. I hope I don’t experience a big revival with this one though, because I’d rather phase it out into extinction at this point!
Four jobs I’ve had:
K-Mart cashier: I still have my name tag to bust out from time to time, show my husband, and giggle, because right under my name it says, “Right here. Right now.”
Custom Jewelry Studio & Gift Shop office assistant: I had this job in the summer between my freshman and sophomore years of college and loved it. I felt like a grown up because I worked normal business hours and made more than minimum wage.
Waitress: I worked at Pizza House Bar and Grill during three years of college at the University of Michigan, and it is to this day still my favorite job, in second place only to my teaching experience. Everyone who worked there was amazing and made the job so much fun. I never thought of myself as much of a multi-tasker before I waitressed, and I ended up rocking at it if I do say so myself. I mean, not to brag, but there may be an Employee of the Month Placard somewhere in that establishment with my name on it. ;)
McDonald’s: It was my first job ever, at the age of 16. I took orders and probably sneaked more chicken nuggets than I should have.
Four movies I’ve watched more than once:
Four places I’ve lived:
Ann Arbor, Michigan
Jacksonville, North Carolina
I’ve lived in multiple addresses in the three previous cities, but I’m not sure that counts as a 4th answer.
Four places I’ve visited:
The United Kingdom, on a People to People Student Ambassador trip when I was 15. We went to England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales over a 3 week period. It was amazing and I am still so thankful I got to have that experience!
The Bahamas-on a cruise on our honeymoon, and also on another cruise with a close friend of mine
San Diego, California-going to Chris’s boot camp graduation and doing some tourist-y things while there as well
Disney World-the happiest place on Earth, I firmly agree!
Four things I’d rather be doing right now:
*Honestly, I’m happy typing the answers to these questions, but if I had a chance, I definitely wouldn’t mind doing any of these things:
Being in the same room as my husband who is currently deployed.
Taking a nap. That would actually be amazing. I have not been getting enough sleep lately.
Curled up on the couch with a good book.
Watching a movie with the kids.
Four things I prefer not to eat:
Four of my favorite foods:
any type of pasta-thanks to my Italian roots
anything involving chocolate (dark chocolate especially), caramel, and nuts, with bonus points if there is vanilla ice cream involved
Four TV shows I watch:
*I am not a big TV watcher lately, as we haven’t had cable in years and don’t even have Netflix at the moment (the sad thing about living in the country and having limited internet options). But here are some of my favorites, even if most are not airing new episodes:
How I Met Your Mother
The Walking Dead-I’m not normally a big zombie fan, to the dismay of my husband, but I LOVE the characters and plot of this show. I just keep my eyes closed during the gross parts.
Four things I’m looking forward to this year:
Chris coming home for good!
Possibly adding a pet to our family for the first time
Taking a trip for our 10 year anniversary
Seeing what the year holds for Chris’s business ventures, my writing, and my teaching career after this school year ends (since my current position only lasts until June).
Four things I’m always saying:
Don’t stand on the furniture.
Did you remember to wash your hands?
I love you.
