Listen To Your Mother!

Hey all! I hinted on my Facebook page yesterday that I would have a fun announcement, and...true to my word, here it is!

So, last week, I did a scary thing. I read a piece of writing that was very near to my heart, to total strangers, at an audition. The purpose of the audition was to try out for an amazing performance event called “Listen to Your Mother” which is an annual production that gives a voice to mothers and motherhood: the good, the bad, and the ugly. Writers share their stories of motherhood in front of a live audience, and everyone in the room gets to experience all the feels and, in response to many of the stories, say “Thank goodness. I’m not alone.”

I am thrilled to announce that I was selected to be a part of this year’s 2017 Listen to Your Mother Metro Detroit cast! I will be sharing a stage with a dozen other writers who also have a mother story to tell, and I am equal parts nervous and elated. I don’t want to say too much or post my story anywhere beforehand, so you’ll just have to join me for the performance. Mark your calendar for April 30th, at 2p.m. The event is at St. Andrew’s Hall in Detroit, so come on down and watch me try not to pee my pants as I read my work in front of a live audience of several hundred people!
